Day 87

05/26/12 - Rod Hollow Shelter (ish) - 987 miles (ish)

Today was hot.  Hot and humid.  Drank lots of water.  Just before getting to the shelter, we saw a mother deer and her tiny fawn.  The fawn was nursing, and as we slowly approached, the mama took off running, knocking the little fawn down.  It was so sad.  We walked up and looked for them in the distance.  I saw the mom but not the fawn.  Suddenly, the fawn bolts away from right under our noses!  He was right there!  They rejoined and were off again.  Such a cool moment.  In other news... Ouch, Charlie.
