The desert, like us and most anything, always smells better after a washing. Perhaps those old cowboy songs sung about "water" in the days of your folks' youth were not just in reference to quenching one's thirst. "Cool, Clear, Water"... probably gave an old cowpoke the experience you just shared with us.
I sense your "loss of words" to describe what you were experiencing. The footage was spectacular! The rainbow was simply beautiful. I'm so proud of you, Micah, that the rain doesn't stop you! I have to agree with Uncle Wes about the "cool, clear water." In fact...I want to pop in our CD "Sons of the Pioneers" right now and listen to those wonderful old ballads. Keep living on "full" out there in the desert and keep the blogs coming.
