05/27/12 - Devil's Racecourse - ≈1,001 miles
One thousand miles. Wow. We are now also in West Virginia. Tomorrow Harper's Ferry. Got off the trail today to stop at a restaurant 0.3 miles away. Guide book says open daily. Apparently daily doesn't include Sundays. This was a major morale disappointment for both of us. Tonight we set up just before dark and just as a thunderstorm opened up on us. Really windy/stormy. Going to try for an EARLY start tomorrow. We can do it.
